Civil Engineering Manager

W&A Engineering is seeking an experienced, passionate Civil Engineer to function as a technical specialist in a departmental supervisory role. Independently develops and applies advanced engineering techniques, concepts and approaches to unique engineering problems. Supervises engineering staff on projects and serves as a technical specialist providing knowledge and expertise. This position will be tasked with leading the design on multiple projects and advising staff during planning, conceptual development, design, and management of land use and community development projects, our ideal candidate has experience executing projects in multiple sectors (municipal, commercial, residential, educational/non-profit, etc.), natural leadership and communication skills, and a knack for spotting design issues up-front and implementing creative solutions.

The right candidate will possess excellent geometrical aptitudes, capable of 3-dimensional perception, mechanical aptitude and skills, advanced knowledge of environmental hazards, and civil design code requirement applications as related to land development and planning, and advanced knowledge of the applicable governmental or industry codes related to large-scale development projects. It is preferred that candidates also possess advanced knowledge of hydrology and hydraulics and how they relate to land development. AutoCAD Civil 3d, Hydraflow, or similar hydrology modeling software skills are required. Well-developed interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively interface with others is preferred.

Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent)

License/Certification
Must be licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Georgia.

Experience
Minimum of 10 years of experience working in a Civil Engineering role with experience leading in a departmental supervisory capacity.

Project Manager/Civil Engineer

Tasked with leading the design on multiple projects and advising staff during planning, conceptual development, design, and management of land use and community development projects, our ideal candidate has experience executing projects in multiple sectors (municipal, commercial, residential, educational/non-profit, etc), natural leadership and communication skills, and a knack for spotting design issues up-front and implementing creative solutions. Candidates for Project Manager (Civil Engineer) position should be a licensed professional with a minimum of 3 years’ experience, or able to obtain licensure (PE). Candidates should be proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Hydraflow, and other related engineering software programs. Successful candidates should have skills in leading the creation of civil-site projects with experience in grading, utilities, hydrology and hydraulics, and roadway design.

Client Manager

W&A Engineering is seeking a Client Manager to support our Program Management department’s growing needs. This position will join our team of Client Managers who are responsible for overseeing multiple project teams and ensuring program goals are reached. In this role you will work closely with project sponsors, cross-functional teams, and assigned project managers to plan and develop scope, deliverables, required resources, work plan, budget, and timing for new initiatives. The ideal candidate will manage programs and project teams for optimal return-on-investment, and coordinate and delegate cross-project initiatives. This person will also be tasked with analyzing, evaluating, and overcoming program risks, as well as producing program reports for management and stakeholders.

Education
Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field and 10+ years experience in an advanced management role or Master’s degree in business administration or related field is preferred.

Experience
10+ years in a similar role is preferred. Program management experience is also desirable.

Civil CAD Technician

W&A Engineering is seeking qualified candidates to fill multiple CAD Technician positions to assist our civil engineers in designing and compiling drawings and permit packages. Responsibilities in this role include completing simple to intermediate plan sets and drawings using AutoCAD Civil 3D and other software programs to develop technically accurate, clean, and deliverable drawings that meet established drafting standards. The right candidate for this position will be detail-oriented and able to work independently as well as review work to ensure accuracy, make corrections to work from red lines and backchecks, and assist with maintaining documentation and project records. The primary duties for this role will also involve assisting with simple design calculations, calculates quantities, reviews technical specifications, and prepares cost estimates. The right candidate for this role will also be expected to maintain confidentiality on all projects, clients, and W&A Engineering operations.

Education
Associates Degree in Legal Services, Management, Planning, Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management or relaAssociate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a field related to Civil Engineering

Experience
4+ years in a similar role is preferred.

Requirements

Entitlement Coordinator

W&A Engineering is seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Entitlement Coordinator to join our Civil Engineering department to assist Project Managers in coordinating the activities of a project to ensure costs, schedule, quality standards, documentation, and deliverables are achieved.  The right person will also assist in the development of project proposals, presentations, cost estimates and budgets, schedules, etc. This person will also be responsible for reviewing project contracts to ensure an understanding of the scope of services provided for each project assigned, and have an understanding of the roles and responsibilities of the key project participants including the Client, Team Members, City Departments, etc. Preparation of project schedules, timelines, and GANTT charts as well as proactively communicating with Project Participants, Project Team Members, and/or Sub-consultants as needed to meet all project objectives will be additional primary responsibilities in this role. This person will also be expected to coordinate with governmental and other planning board contact and related activities for each assigned project. Candidates with paralegal and/or similar work experience are encouraged to apply.

Education
Associates Degree in Legal Services, Management, Planning, Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management or related field will be accepted. It is preferred that candidates possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Management, Planning, Engineering, Architecture, and Construction

Experience
2+ years in a similar role is preferred. Paralegal experience is also desirable.
