Growing with W&A: Meet Johanna Hoover!

This year, W&A Engineering celebrated Administrative Professionals’ Day with the addition of our new Administrative Assistant, Johanna Hoover.

Johanna graduated from the University of Georgia with a bachelor’s degree in English in May of 2020. While in college, she served as an undergraduate representative for the National English Honor Society, Sigma Tau Delta and worked towards an academic emphasis in 19th-century Victorian Literature. Her favorite books are Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontëand Little Women by Louisa May Alcott because of their simultaneously independent and gracious female leads.

Based in our Athens office, Johanna is the first face greeting our clients and team members! She dedicates herself to the behind the scenes work that makes W&A Engineering the well-oiled machine that it is. From making sure that our office supplies and snack shelves are stocked to managing mail and scheduling to inputting phone-in surveying and engineering requests, Johanna has already proven herself to be a valuable member of our administrative team. Her favorite parts of the job so far have been getting to know her new coworkers and interacting with clients.

“I’m still getting started, but each day brings different and exciting opportunities!” Johanna said. “I can definitely tell that there is a strong, close-knit family here.”

In her free time, Johanna enjoys cooking and baking, reading, sewing, and knitting. An old soul, she loves to cuddle up with her kitten, Pip, and watch her favorite British television show. She is a life-long Athenian, having grown up just a short drive from W&A Engineering headquarters. Though she loves trying new places to dine out, some of her Athens classic favorite restaurants are Cali N Titos, Trappeze Pub, and Ideal Bagel.
