Work continues on the Caterpillar facility. Interior finishing of the building is ongoing with electrical, HVAC and plumbing. Manufacturing equipment has been set, with the move in date scheduled for 3/11/13. On the exterior, trees have been installed in the parking lot islands, lighting has been completely installed and the site has been secured with the completion of the perimeter fencing. Construction continues to move forward on the PDC (product distribution center) with steel framing completion, wall panels being installed and utility staging in place. The overall site continues to approach final stabilization as grass covers graded slopes and the final top coat of paving gets installed.
Access road construction continues to progress along the new Dozer Drive and Orkin Drive. The final wearing surface has been installed to complete the travel lanes of asphalt. Sidewalk installation is nearing completion as the last of the utility improvements were finalized in the right-of-way. Intersection improvements continue to take shape on both Atlanta Highway and US Highway 78. Flashing signals can be seen hung and ready for daily usage. Street trees have been installed on all the road shoulders and slopes continue to green up with grassing as the roadways approach final stabilization.
