Growing with W&A: Meet Austin Brooks, EIT!

It’s been an incredible year of growth for our civil engineering team, and we’re thrilled to welcome yet another great addition in Austin Brooks, EIT. The newest member of our civil engineering department building better communities in Atlanta, Georgia, Austin joins W&A Engineering as a Project Engineer.

Austin earned his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology with an emphasis in Construction and Infrastructure Systems and a minor in Architecture. At Georgia Tech, he volunteered as an Undergraduate Mentor with the National Society of Black Engineers for over two years and continues to provide guidance and life management insight to undergraduate students. He is a member of the National Society of Black Engineers, the American Society of Civil Engineers, and the Construction Engineering Association.

Austin discovered his love for community building at a very young age and has worked diligently to position himself among the industry’s top engineers in one of the nation’s most dynamic cities. One of his favorite projects to date is a Lidl grocery store in Atlanta, Georgia during which he participated every step of the design and permitting process and learned valuable lessons about client coordination and collaboration.

“My success is a result of my persistence – enduring challenges is what sets me apart from others,” said Austin. “The path to my dreams has been anything but a golden brick road, but the adversity continues to build my wisdom and confirm my purpose.”

In his free time, Austin enjoys finding new hidden gems in the Metro Atlanta area from new restaurants, activities, and more. Throughout his course of study, he played a variety of sports, namely baseball, and has transitioned since graduating to what he calls “old man activities.” From golf, billiards, pin pong, and more, he’s hardly ever sitting still for long!

We’re thrilled to welcome Austin to our growing team of civil engineers in Atlanta, Georgia and cannot wait to see how he builds better communities as part of our collaborative team!
