Growing with W&A: Meet David Perry, PLA!

We’re thrilled to welcome David Perry, PLA to our growing team of professionals building better communities in Charlotte, North Carolina. A Registered Landscape Architect in both South Carolina and North Carolina, David joins us as a Landscape Architect with nearly thirty years of industry experience working in communities all across the southeast.

David earned his Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from Texas Tech University in 1994 and his Master of Urban Design from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 2014. During his final year, he even studied abroad in Beijing, Suzhou, Shanghai, and Xiamen, China. During his course of study, he was heavily invested in the research and application of infrastructural design strategies changing the approach to high-density mixed-use urban development, as well as multi-level transportation modes, evolving paradigms of urban verticality, and resilient urban infrastructure to withstand rising global sea levels.

David has worked both in the private and public sectors, having served the Town of Huntersville, North Carolina as Consultant Landscape Architect from 2010 to 2012. In his time working with Huntersville, David designed and developed a unified streetscape to enhance short term goals while stabilizing long term objectives for the Town. He also successfully elicited corporate sponsorship funding from business interest groups while responding to public inquiries regarding development. In this role, he conducted community charrettes and fostered public engagement to implement municipal planning program directives to business and homeowner associations.

In his free time, David enjoys travelling to explore new places and attending community events in the greater Charlotte area. Having designed various areas in and around Charlotte, North Carolina, he loves visiting sites he’s had a hand in designing over his decades of experience.

We’re so excited to have David Perry join our team of professionals serving clients across the country!
