Growing With W&A: Meet Emily Grube

Meet Emily Grube, one of the newest additions to the W&A family, operating as the Chief of Talent Acquisition & Retention!

Emily came to W&A Engineering with extensive experience working in talent acquisition, having recruited engineering candidates for firms all across the United States throughout her career. In fact, W&A was her very first client! Over the years, she became very familiar with our company culture and completely embraced our core values.

“A huge reason I love W&A Engineering as an organization is the W&A Cares program. Jon Williams’s desire to be a firm that gives back to our communities is absolutely fabulous, and I am very excited to be a part of it all,” Emily said. “It truly is one of my favorite things about Jon and W&A Engineering as a whole.”

As W&A Engineering’s Chief of Talent Acquisition and Retention out of our Athens headquarters, Emily is working to establish, implement, and execute the workings of a recruiting department for all offices. She is working directly with W&A executives to ensure that W&A Engineering continues to be the rapidly-growing, philanthropic, multidisciplinary engineering firm that we are.

“A large part of my role here at W&A Engineering centers around our culture—our family, our mission, our values—and how we can continue to maximize that culture as we grow,” Emily said.

Emily and her daughter, Aubrey Mercer, moved to Athens four years ago and haven’t looked back since. During the pandemic, they have both become avid cinephiles, streaming the newest arrivals on Netflix and Amazon Prime like absolute champions. Despite the undeniable call of the silver screen, however, Emily and Aubrey both thoroughly enjoy the great outdoors. From spending the evening by a bonfire to a quick trip to the mountains or Lake Oconee, their weekends have been filled with crisp winter air and the crunch of leaves beneath their boots.

The easy accessibility of both the mountains and the lake scene has become one of Emily’s favorite things about life in Athens. She also loves the wide variety of restaurants available in Athens, as well as the vivid live music scene for which Athens is so well-known.

W&A Engineering extends the absolute warmest welcome to Emily Grube and looks forward to the role she will play in helping us build better communities.
