Growing with W&A: Meet Thomas Brown, PLA!

We’re thrilled to welcome Thomas Brown, PLA to W&A Engineering as a Senior Landscape Architect serving our clients across the country with innovative, creative, and efficient design! Thomas joins W&A with over 13 years of experience bringing man-made elements into harmony with the natural environment.

The first landscape architect working full-time in our Atlanta office, Thomas is greatly looking forward to collaborating with his new team, contributing to W&A’s landscape architecture portfolio, and helping grow the Atlanta office.

Thomas earned his Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from the University of Georgia’s College of Environment + Design in 2010. Born and raised in Gwinnett County, Thomas worked on a tree farm in high school and took an architectural drafting course shortly thereafter. Having almost simultaneously discovered his love for both horticulture and design, he found landscape architecture during his freshman orientation at the University of Georgia and knew he’d found his home.

Earlier this year, Thomas’s original design entitled “The Womb Garden” was selected to be showcased as part of the Radicepura Garden Festival in Sicily alongside some of the world’s best garden designers in the world. The festival will run through December, displaying Thomas’s piece.

In his free time, Thomas enjoys spending time with his wife and three kids, running, hiking, watching baseball, and more. He’s been playing the drums since he was eight-years-old and particularly enjoys playing jazz music. Thomas once won a radio contest and was invited to play in a fantasy football league with Tom Glavine and Matt Ryan. He beat them both!

Thomas’s favorite quote is John Muir’s “The clearest way into the Universe is through a forest wilderness” and hopes to make the environmental conservationist proud by visiting all of the country’s national parks with his family.

We’re so excited to see all the ways Thomas builds better communities as part of the W&A Engineering team!
