Nearly everyone at some point in their lives will need time away from work to welcome a new child or care for a loved one who is ill. W&A Engineering is proud to support paid family leave and provides twelve weeks of paid maternity leave to its employees as well as four weeks paid paternity leave and an additional 30-days of paid sick leave for individuals who find themselves needing to care for a sick child or family member. These benefits are available to all full-time employees. Additionally, W&A provides financial assistance to employees interested in adoption or becoming foster parents.
The nonprofit GEEARS, Georgia Early Education Alliance For Ready Students, is a local organization operating to inspire and provide leadership for a statewide movement on quality early learning and healthy development for all children ages birth through five. Recently, the GEEARS team partnered with State Legislatures to sponsor a bill that would provide paid family leave to all state employees and reached out to W&A Engineering to be a part of the public service announcement to help promote paid family leave throughout the state. W&A is thankful for organizations like GEEARS and the work they do to improve access to quality early childhood care for all of Georgia’s children.
