Project Description
The Rails-to-Trails Trailhead is a civic/municipal project completed for the Athens-Clarke County Unified Government c/o the Athens-Clarke County SPLOST Management Program. The project is located along East Broad Street in downtown Athens. The site was designed as the trailhead for the county’s rails-to-trails project. The master plan included formal trail access with a plaza, fencing and extensive landscaping and amenity features. Design services for the project included site development planning, engineering, landscape architecture, tree management plans, and utility agency coordination.
