Project Description
In support of landscape enhancements and the improvement of ADA access to the historic Jefferson County Courthouse, W&A Engineering provided a conceptual site improvement plan for the 2.8-acre site that included designated spaces for a military memorial, ADA access, appropriate planting near the building, placement of new trees, and treatment of the old jail building. The first phase of this work is the creation of a veterans memorial plaza on the front lawn. This plaza reorganizes the existing monuments that have been placed in a piecemeal fashion over several decades. This new plaza seeks to provide a purposeful space for those monuments to honor those who gave their lives in service of our county. This space also pays a separate tribute to the site’s capital history. Regular contact with owner representative during the conceptual phase.
