W&A Engineering was engaged to design a complete outdoor amenity package for the Retreat at Tuscaloosa which is a student housing development with over 1,300 bedrooms. The package was centered around a 9,000 square foot swimming pool with a waterfall and grotto. The pool was accompanied by multiple sports courts including volleyball, horseshoes, tennis courts, and a basketball court. An outdoor kitchen was provided with multiple grills for use by residents and also for catering events. The amenity area was complement with arbors and beautiful landscapes. Other amenities outside of the clubhouse vicinity were also part of the project. These included a half-acre recreation field with a small performance stage and a trail network to access the adjacent lake. W&A also provided the design for the entrance monuments, gates, and signage.
