W&A ENGINEERING ANNOUNCES- 2020 BUILDING BETTER COMMUNITIES LOCAL BUSINESS PARTNERSHIP

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

W&A Engineering Announces Building Better Communities Local Business Partnership:

Athens, Georgia – We are delighted to announce that as part of W&A Engineering’s 20th anniversary celebration, we will be launching a year-long initiative, the Building Better Communities Local Business Partnership! Throughout the coming year, W&A will partner with 12 local businesses and highlight the work they have done in establishing their business as an important part of the culture and economy of Athens-Clarke and Oconee counties.

“Twenty years ago, I started a design and engineering firm in Watkinsville, GA. Since then, the business has grown into a multidisciplinary engineering firm with five core disciplines, nearly 50 employees with offices in Athens, Nashville, and Augusta, and a national footprint with project experience in over 45 states. I know the courage and vision it takes to start a business and the tenacity it takes to keep it going. The goal of the Building Better Communities Local Business Partnership is to celebrate local businesses and nonprofits, and I sincerely hope our local community will join us for this 20th anniversary initiative,” said Jon Williams, CEO and President of W&A Engineering.

W&A will be asking each of the 12 businesses chosen, one per month, to name a nonprofit “beneficiary”, and throughout the month W&A will promote both the designated business and their chosen nonprofit throughout the community. As part of that campaign, W&A is pledging to donate an amount equal to the business sales on the 20th day of the month, up to $500. Designating a nonprofit as part of this partnership is important not only as a way to give back, but also as an opportunity to recognize the significant role these community partners have in our economy.

The year-long partnership will operate under the W&A Cares Program. W&A’s corporate citizenship initiative, W&A Cares, is part of an ambitious effort to formalize and increase the firm’s commitment to “Building Better Communities” through service and financial support in five focus areas: Community, Economic Development, Education, Employee Well-Being, and Sustainability.

“Over the past 20 years, W&A’s philanthropic efforts have taken many forms. As we approach our 20th anniversary, we are committed to building on this history and increasing these efforts,” said CEO/Partner Jon Williams. “We’re focused on making W&A Engineering the best possible company for our employees, and not just a great place to work but also a great place to serve.”
