W&A Engineering’s Travis Bonar, PE, a Senior Project Manager on the firm’s Nashville-based Civil Engineering team, has been appointed to the American Council of Engineering Companies of Tennessee‘s 2023 Leadership PE Program.
The Leadership PE Program is a competency-based program focused on high-potential senior, mid-level, and emerging engineers in both the public and private sectors. Over the course of five sessions, program participants will gain leadership skills while networking with members from other ACEC Tennessee member firms, as well as federal and state government agencies.
The competencies included in this customized class include self-development, perspective, management-leadership paradox, building winning relationships, interpersonal savvy, conflict management, listening, integrity and trust, and building one’s personal brand. Sessions will be facilitated by experts in each competency from partnering agencies, including the Tennessee Department of Transportation, Tennessee Department of Environment & Conservation, Tennessee Valley Authority, and US Army Corps of Engineers.
Travis was selected after a lengthy application and interview process including evaluation of his contributions to the engineering industry, leadership experience, honors and accolades, and more.
“Being a part of the 2023 Leadership PE Program has been a great opportunity to get involved with other engineers across the state,” Travis said. “I’ve really enjoyed representing W&A Engineering among this group of leaders as we travel the state.”
The 2023 class will graduate in June.
