W&A Engineering: Our Ampersand

Today is both International Literacy Day and National Ampersand Day making it the perfect excuse to celebrate W&A’s connection to our mission, our vision, and our why!

Initially included as the 27th member of the 19th-century English alphabet, the ampersand has been a crucial part of W&A’s identity since our inception in 1999. Originally Williams & Associates to highlight the tight-knit group of professionals serving northeast Georgia, W&A Engineering officially welcomed a name change in 2017 to better reflect our current mission, vision, and why of our growing team:

𝙒&𝘼 𝙀𝙣𝙜𝙞𝙣𝙚𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙞𝙢𝙥𝙧𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙨 𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙢𝙪𝙣𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙚𝙨 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙞𝙣𝙣𝙤𝙫𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙙𝙚𝙨𝙞𝙜𝙣, 𝙚𝙛𝙛𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙚𝙛𝙛𝙞𝙘𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙚𝙣𝙜𝙞𝙣𝙚𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙜, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙥𝙧𝙤𝙛𝙚𝙨𝙨𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙖𝙡 𝙨𝙚𝙧𝙫𝙞𝙘𝙚 𝙗𝙚𝙘𝙖𝙪𝙨𝙚 𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙘𝙡𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙨, 𝙚𝙢𝙥𝙡𝙤𝙮𝙚𝙚𝙨, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙢𝙪𝙣𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙚𝙨 𝙙𝙚𝙨𝙚𝙧𝙫𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙗𝙚𝙨𝙩.

In addition to the connection our ampersand offers from our corporate team of seasoned visionaries lead by President and Chief Executive Officer Jon Williams, ASLA, PLA to our growing family of industry professionals, our ampersand also reflects all of the “more” we’re able to provide our clients and partners. After all, we offer complete civil engineering services AND total development solutions in numerous complementary industries, such as land surveying, landscape architecture, economic development, and more. We serve communities surrounding our branch offices across the southeast AND 43 other states across the United States (AND counting). We prioritize providing community-changing influence through our innovative, professional service AND our work with local non-profits, charities of choice, intensive internship programs, and volunteer programs. Truly, we could go on AND on.

For more than 22 years, W&A Engineering has been proud to build better communities with every project we’ve touched. We’re excited about our next 22 years of growth, community connection, and industry innovation!
