17th Annual BBQ Benefiting Extra Special People

“Nothing brings people together like good food, good friends, and a good cause.” -Jon Williams, W&A

On May 13, 2016 over 600 community members gathered at Harris Shoals Park in Watkinsville to enjoy homemade BBQ & fixin’s. For the past 17 years, Jon Williams of W&A and Donald Hansford of Donald W. Hansford Law have teamed up to put on a BBQ. Since 2011 W&A and Hansford Law have been donating $1 for each person who attends the free BBQ to Extra Special People, a locally-based organization dedicated to serving children with developmental disabilities. We were successful in raising over $600 for ESP during the 2016 Annual BBQ!

An Extra Special Celebration!

This year, BBQ attendees had something extra to celebrate: Extra Special People will be opening their newly constructed facility in less than one month! Plus, ESP is celebrating its 30th year of service to special needs children.

The new facility, opening on June 4, 2016 gives the much needed space for ESP to grow: allowing more special needs children & young adults have their lives changed by ESP each year.

W&A Engineering is honored to be a part of ESP’s journey in more ways than an annual BBQ. Our entire team of surveyors, engineers and landscape architects have been and will continue to be hands-on with ESP’s executive board: assisting with the site selection, surveying, site design and workdays for their new facility in Watkinsville and Camp Hooray in Jefferson, GA.

Below is a rendition of the nearly-completed new home for ESP!
